The purpose of this website is to provide you with information that is relevant to you in the most convenient way while protecting your privacy.  The following Privacy Notice gives you an overview of how we handle your personal data. 1. Website visit

1.1. Processing operation and purpose

If you only visit our website without making use of the services offered or without contacting us, only general information (“server log files”) will be collected. This includes the type of your web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider, your IP address and the like. This information is processed to ensure a trouble-free connection, to make the website available and to ensure system stability and security. We will not link this information to you.

The processing takes place in our legitimate interest in ensuring the functionality and stability of our website (Article 6 (1) f GDPR).

1.3 Recipients

The recipients of the information are our technical service providers that we use for the operation and maintenance of our website.

1.4 Retention

The information is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose it has been collected for. This is usually the case when your website session is finished.

2. Contact forms

2.1 Processing operation and purpose

If you transmit data to us via one of our contact forms, we will use your data for individual communication with you. Mandatory data in this respect is title, first and last name, e-mail address and the reason for contacting us. The provision of further data is voluntary. Your details will be used for the purpose of answering to your request and stored for any queries you may have.

2.2 Legal basis

The processing takes place in the context of our legitimate interest in contacting you in an easy and customer-friendly way (Article 6 (1) f GDPR).

If you request an offer from us for our training services, your data will be processed to carry out pre-contractual measures (Article 6 (1) b GDPR).

2.3 Recipients and Third Country Transfers

The recipient of the data is salesforce.com EMEA Limited (“Salesforce”), the provider of our customer relationship management system. If Salesforce uses other non-EU or non-EEA group companies to provide its services, the transfer of data is covered by binding corporate rules or Salesforce.com, Inc.’s privacy shield certification.

2.4 Retention

If no contract is concluded as a result of your contacting us, your data will be deleted at the latest 6 months after processing your request. Otherwise we store your data according to the statutory retention periods.

3. Whitepapers

3.1 Processing operation and purpose

If you wish to receive one of our whitepapers, we collect and use the data that you provide us when requesting it to send you an email with a download link. Mandatory data in this respect is your title, first and last name and e-mail address.

3.2 Legal basis

The processing takes place for contract performance (Article 6 (1) b GDPR).

3.3 Recipients and Third Country Transfers

The recipient of the data is salesforce.com EMEA Limited (“Salesforce”), the provider of our customer relationship management system. If Salesforce uses other non-EU or non-EEA group companies to provide its services, the transfer of data is covered by binding corporate rules or Salesforce.com, Inc.’s privacy shield certification.

3.4 Retention

After we have sent you the download link, we will store your data for a reasonable period of time in order to prove, if necessary, that and by whom a download has been requested.

4. Google reCAPTCHA

4.1 Processing operation and purpose

On our website we use Google reCAPTCHA to check and avoid interactions through automated access, for example through so-called bots. This is a service provided by Google LLC (USA), hereinafter referred to as “Google”. This service enables Google to determine which website is sending a request and from which IP address you are using the so-called reCAPTCHA input box. In addition to your IP address, Google may also collect other information necessary for the provision of the reCAPTCHA service.  

4.2 Legal basis

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) f GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the security of our Internet presence and in the defense against unwanted, automated access like spam and similar attacks.

4.3 Recipients and Third Country Transfers

By being certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield, Google guarantees that the EU’s data protection requirements are also met when data is processed in the United States.

5. Newsletter

5.1 Processing operation and purpose

If you subscribe to our newsletter, your data will only be used to send you the subscribed newsletter or administrative updates to the newsletter by e-mail. In this respect, your email address is mandatory. All other information is voluntary. Before the first newsletter delivery, we check your subscription by means of a double opt-in procedure, which is logged.

5.2 Legal basis

Newsletters are sent on the basis of your consent (Article 6 (1) a GDPR). You can revoke this consent to the storage of your personal data and their use for the newsletter dispatch at any time with effect for the future. Each newsletter contains a corresponding unsubscribe link. You can also contact us at any time at privacy@dalecarnegie.de for the purpose of revocation.

5.3 Recipient and third country transfer

We use MailChimp, a service of The Rocket Science Group, LLC, (USA), in the following called “The Rocket Science Group”, for the newsletter dispatch. The Rocket Science Group’s EU-US Privacy Shield certification guarantees that the data protection requirements of the EU are also complied with when processing data in the USA. If you subscribe to our newsletter, the data collected during the subscription process will be processed by The Rocket Science Group on our behalf for the purpose of sending the newsletter.

5.4 Retention

Your data will be stored as long as you have not revoked your consent for the newsletter to be sent.

6. First Party Cookies

6.1 Processing operation and purpose

Our website uses so-called “First Party Cookies”, i.e. cookies set by ourselves. They help to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in the cache of your Internet browser. We do not use the data collected with our First Party Cookies to identify you.

6.2 Legal basis and opt-out options

We use cookies because of our legitimate interest in making our website user-friendly and secure for you (Article 6 (1) f GDPR). Most browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. You can completely deactivate the storage of cookies using your browser settings, but this may restrict the usability of our website. Alternatively, you can set your browser so that it only informs you about the placement of cookies or allows an exception for our first party cookies.

6.3 Recipients

The information we collect through our first party cookies is not shared with third parties.

6.4 Retention and deletion option

Session cookies are deleted when you close your Internet browser. Other cookies are deleted when they are no longer required for the purpose for which they were collected. 7. Tracking

7.1 Processing operation and purpose

We use tracking technologies to analyze and optimize our website and how it is used. This enables us to check the effectiveness of our website, optimize it and adapt it to the needs of our users and correct errors. The tracking technologies used by us process personal data only in pseudonymous form. A connection with you, i.e. a combination of the data with information about the person behind the pseudonym, does not take place.

We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google LLC (hereinafter: “Google”). With the help of Google Analytics, the behavior of visitors to the website can be evaluated and their interests analyzed. For this purpose, we create a pseudonymous user profile.

Google Analytics uses “third party cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer by Google, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the third party cookie about your use of this website will generally be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. However, due to the activation of IP anonymization on this website, Google will shorten IP addresses from users located in Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA where it will be shortened. On our behalf (as the operator of this website), Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other data from Google. The purposes of data processing are to evaluate the use of the website and to compile reports on activities on the website.

7.2 Legal basis and opt-out options

With our tracking, we pursue the legitimate interest of providing the most user-friendly, interesting and efficient content on our website (Article 6 (1) f GDPR).

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of our website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and Google from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser add-on available from Google at http://tools.google.com. This plugin is provided by Google; we would like to point out that we can neither check nor control whether it is working. In addition to or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can prevent Google Analytics from tracking our pages by installing an opt-out cookie on your device. This will prevent Google Analytics from collecting cookies for this website and browser in the future as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.

8. YouTube

8.1 Processing operation and purpose

We use YouTube in our internet presence. This is a video portal of YouTube LLC (USA), hereinafter referred to as “YouTube”. We use YouTube with the function “Extended data protection mode” in order to be able to display videos in the most data-frugal way possible. In the course of this YouTube will record and process your IP address, the date and time as well as the website you visited.

8.2 Legal basis

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of our website. According to YouTube, the function “Extended data protection mode” means that the data described in more detail below will only be transmitted to YouTube’s server if you actually start a video.

8.3 Recipients and Third Country Transfers

YouTube is a subsidiary of Google LLC (USA), hereinafter referred to as “Google”. By being certified according to the EU-US Privacy Shield, Google and its subsidiary YouTube guarantee that the data protection requirements of the EU are also complied with when processing data in the USA.

8.4 Opt-out options

If you are logged in to YouTube at the same time, YouTube will assign the connection information to your YouTube account. If you wish to prevent this, you must either log out of YouTube before visiting our website or choose the appropriate settings in your YouTube user account.

YouTube permanently stores cookies on your local Internet browser for the purpose of functionality and analysis of user behavior. If you disagree with this processing, you have the option of preventing the cookies from being stored by changing the settings in your Internet browser.

9. Your rights

Within the framework of the General Data Protection Regulation and national law, you have the right to request information on personal data concerning you, to request correction, deletion and limitation of processing, and to exercise your right to data portability. If we rely on a legitimate interest for data processing, you may object to such processing. If we rely on your consent for data processing, you may revoke such consent at any time; the revocation will not impact the legality of the processing carried out on the basis of your consent prior to revocation.
